Established in 2022 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, RMTHA emerged as a response to the growing need for a unified voice within the region’s burgeoning homestay industry. This sector has rapidly expanded in recent years, becoming a vital component of the region’s tourism landscape by championing sustainable practices and providing a source of income for local residents.
The primary objective of the association is to create a platform where homestay owners, guides, and drivers can converge, exchange knowledge and resources, and collaborate to elevate the overall performance of the sector. Additionally, RMTHA serves as a conduit for dialogue with governmental bodies and other stakeholders regarding pertinent issues affecting homestays and tourism in the region. Since its inception, the association has yielded substantial benefits for the homestay industry, fostering a sense of unity among stakeholders and enabling them to collectively strive towards enhancing their services and promoting tourism.
RMTHA has also nurtured an entrepreneurial spirit within local communities, paving the way for economic opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.
